About:

Lindsay Smithberg is a self taught pen + ink artist residing in Port Angeles, Washington. Lindsay has lived in the Pacific Northwest her whole life, from Whidbey Island, Washington to Juneau, Alaska.

She is inspired by the true beauty of her outdoor surroundings, which is a common theme seen throughout her pen drawings. Lindsay creates her drawings primarily with just black ink pens, but has been known to include hints of color in some. Lindsay's favorite (and most time consuming) style is stippling, which is the process of drawing, painting, or engraving using numerous small dots or specks. To get an idea of how long one of her pieces take, a 2x2" square of stippling can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour - depending on how detailed the drawing is.

Lindsay was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in June 2020. Although this may be a setback to some, this diagnosis has inspired her to pursue her art career and keep moving. She currently works as a Graphic Designer for a local publishing company.
